Tourism
Places, forts and journeys
Rajasthan is India’s largest state by area. A first week is one line of cities, not the whole map. October to March is the kind window for most visitors. Summer heat on the plains is serious, and monsoon greens the east and south.
Food
Thalis, sweets and desert cooking
Dal baati churma, gatte, ker sangri, Jaipur’s pyaaz kachori and Jodhpur’s mirchi vada are everyday foods, not only festival plates. Laal maas is a hot mutton dish. Ghewar belongs to Teej and the rains.
Culture
Dress, craft and festivals
Bandhani is tie-dye. Leheriya is the monsoon wave. Gangaur follows Holi, and Pushkar’s camel fair sits near Kartik Purnima. Those civil dates move every year.

Temple
Dilwara at Mount Abu
Marble Jain temples in Sirohi. Famous, and not the UNESCO hill-fort list. Dress and photography follow the temple.

FAQ
Is Rajasthan.Love an official government website?
No. It is an independent knowledge and planning library. Recruitment notices, ticket prices, exam dates and results must be checked on the official site named in the answer.
Where do the answers come from?
From files stored with this website. Search runs in your browser. There is no live feed from a government server.
What if my question is not in the library?
The site will say it could not find a verified answer. It will not invent one. You will see the closest stored questions and categories.
Can I save a question without an account?
Yes. Saved questions, guides, tools and recent searches stay in this browser until you remove them.
Why do some answers ask me to verify a fact?
District boundaries, fees, train times, schemes and exam rules change. Those records are marked and dated. Evergreen history and culture are written more directly, still with sources.
Kingdoms
What is a careful account of Amber and the Kachwaha state?
Quick answer
Amber explains Jaipur. The fort is older than the pink city. Man Singh could command a Mughal army at Haldighati because Amber’s politics were not Pratap’s politics. Man Singh I belongs to Akbar’s reign. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II. The pink wash is traditionally 1876.
Detailed answer
The Kachwahas. They were inside the Mughal system earlier and more fully than Mewar. Amber explains Jaipur. The fort is older than the pink city. Man Singh could command a Mughal army at Haldighati because Amber’s politics were not Pratap’s politics.
Amber Fort in the hills, then the planned city of Jaipur on the plain. The region is often called Dhundhar. Amber is a 2013 UNESCO component. The city Jai Singh founded holds the 2010 Jantar Mantar inscription. They are two listings.
Dhundhar, Amber and Jaipur are nested names, not three unrelated states. Shekhawati is a Kachwaha region to the north, not the capital.
Important information
