District boundaries, fees, train times, schemes and exam rules change. Those records are marked and dated. Evergreen history and culture are written more directly, still with sources.

18 April 1948, Udaipur joins, Bhupal Singh as Rajpramukh, capital Udaipur, Nehru inaugurates. The big four are not in yet.
Udaipur’s prestige, not its size alone, changed the union. The Maharana’s primacy was the political point. Do not move Nehru’s inauguration to 30 March 1949. That later day is Patel and Jaipur, in the usual account.
