Merta is in Nagaur district, in the Marwar part of Rajasthan. People usually combine it with Ajmer. From the usual hub this is a full day. It is a poor clip-on to another fort the same morning.
Rain months at Merta: July’s rain is unreliable. A wet day is a gift, not a plan. August can be humid and still hot. September is a transition. Do not dress only for winter. Winter is kinder. Green country is not the same thing as an open road or an open zone.
