Merta is in Nagaur district, in the Marwar part of Rajasthan. People usually combine it with Ajmer. From the usual hub this is a full day. It is a poor clip-on to another fort the same morning.

The usable record is elsewhere in the note: Mirabai is the sixteenth-century bhakti poet linked with Merta’s Rathore house and later with Mewar by marriage. Devotion has enlarged the biography.
