Why do some answers ask me to verify a fact?
District boundaries, fees, train times, schemes and exam rules change. Those records are marked and dated. Evergreen history and culture are written more directly, still with sources.

What is Gangaur?
Quick answer
Gangaur is a spring festival for Shiva and Parvati, kept with particular ceremony in Rajasthan. It follows Holi, and both Jaipur and Udaipur hold well-known processions.
Detailed answer
Married women and unmarried women take part with different customary hopes, depending on the family. Idols of Gauri are dressed and carried. As with Teej, the civil date changes every year.
If you watch a procession, stay at the edge, ask before photographing faces, and do not block a ritual path for a picture.
