A slow look at Rajasthan
Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II, below the older palace at Amber.

Tourism
Places, forts and journeys
Rajasthan is India’s largest state by area. A first week is one line of cities, not the whole map. October to March is the kind window for most visitors. Summer heat on the plains is serious, and monsoon greens the east and south.
Food
Thalis, sweets and desert cooking
Dal baati churma, gatte, ker sangri, Jaipur’s pyaaz kachori and Jodhpur’s mirchi vada are everyday foods, not only festival plates. Laal maas is a hot mutton dish. Ghewar belongs to Teej and the rains.
Culture
Dress, craft and festivals
Bandhani is tie-dye. Leheriya is the monsoon wave. Gangaur follows Holi, and Pushkar’s camel fair sits near Kartik Purnima. Those civil dates move every year.
Study
GK and exam orientation
Practice from stored notes. District counts, cut-offs and results change. RPSC and RSSB publish the notices that matter. This site does not.
Stepwell
Chand Baori at Abhaneri
The stepped tank in Dausa, beside Harshat Mata. It is not a UNESCO site, and it is not in Jodhpur.
Fort
Gagron, a 2013 hill fort
Where the Ahu and the Kali Sindh meet. One of the six UNESCO hill forts. Not a substitute for Chittorgarh.
Wildlife
Keoladeo, Bharatpur
A wetland inscribed in 1985. Birds, not tigers. Water level changes the year.
Temple
Dilwara at Mount Abu
Marble Jain temples in Sirohi. Famous, and not the UNESCO hill-fort list. Dress and photography follow the temple.

Clear days, cold desert nights, the busiest forts.

FAQ
Is Rajasthan.Love an official government website?
No. It is an independent knowledge and planning library. Recruitment notices, ticket prices, exam dates and results must be checked on the official site named in the answer.
Where do the answers come from?
From files stored with this website. Search runs in your browser. There is no live feed from a government server.
What if my question is not in the library?
The site will say it could not find a verified answer. It will not invent one. You will see the closest stored questions and categories.
Can I save a question without an account?
Yes. Saved questions, guides, tools and recent searches stay in this browser until you remove them.
Why do some answers ask me to verify a fact?
District boundaries, fees, train times, schemes and exam rules change. Those records are marked and dated. Evergreen history and culture are written more directly, still with sources.
Tourism
Places, journeys and the practical side of visiting Rajasthan.
Rajasthan is India’s largest state by area, and that single fact should slow a plan down. A week is enough for one line of cities. It is not enough for Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Bikaner and a tiger reserve. The desert line is Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. The lake and fort line is Jaipur or Delhi into Udaipur, with Chittorgarh or Kumbhalgarh if the days allow. Mixing both lines in seven days means the holiday is mostly a highway.
October to March is the stretch most visitors find comfortable. December and January nights in the desert, and often in Jaipur, are cold, so a dawn layer matters even when noon is mild. April, May and June are extremely hot on the plains. Mount Abu, in the Aravalli, is the usual summer exception because of the height. July to September is the monsoon. The east and south turn green. Park zones may close. A camp brochure is not the forest department.
Give a main city two nights. In Jaipur, founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II, keep the old-city palace quarter and Amber on different parts of the day. Jodhpur, founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, wants a morning at Mehrangarh. Jaisalmer’s fort, begun in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, is still lived in. Udaipur, founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II, is a lake city and not a place to see after a same-day drive from the desert. Arrival evenings are for food and sleep.
Tickets, train times and hotel rates change. Use the railway timetable you trust and the monument’s own notice. The Archaeological Survey of India is the source where ASI is in charge. This library stores ranges for a few roads, not a live map, and its calculators only multiply numbers you type. They will not invent a fare. Rajasthan Tourism is the official visitor site when you need an event date.
