Tourism
Places, forts and journeys
Rajasthan is India’s largest state by area. A first week is one line of cities, not the whole map. October to March is the kind window for most visitors. Summer heat on the plains is serious, and monsoon greens the east and south.
Food
Thalis, sweets and desert cooking
Dal baati churma, gatte, ker sangri, Jaipur’s pyaaz kachori and Jodhpur’s mirchi vada are everyday foods, not only festival plates. Laal maas is a hot mutton dish. Ghewar belongs to Teej and the rains.
Culture
Dress, craft and festivals
Bandhani is tie-dye. Leheriya is the monsoon wave. Gangaur follows Holi, and Pushkar’s camel fair sits near Kartik Purnima. Those civil dates move every year.

FAQ
Is Rajasthan.Love an official government website?
No. It is an independent knowledge and planning library. Recruitment notices, ticket prices, exam dates and results must be checked on the official site named in the answer.
Where do the answers come from?
From files stored with this website. Search runs in your browser. There is no live feed from a government server.
What if my question is not in the library?
The site will say it could not find a verified answer. It will not invent one. You will see the closest stored questions and categories.
Can I save a question without an account?
Yes. Saved questions, guides, tools and recent searches stay in this browser until you remove them.
Why do some answers ask me to verify a fact?
District boundaries, fees, train times, schemes and exam rules change. Those records are marked and dated. Evergreen history and culture are written more directly, still with sources.

Keoladeo National Park
Keoladeo National Park is the wetland national park at Bharatpur, UNESCO World Heritage, inscribed in 1985, famous for birds. This overview reading stays inside a reviewed note for Bharatpur district and does not add a price, a census or a timetable.
This subject changes. The review date is the date the text was checked against the sources named below, not a promise that it is still current.
What it is, and where it sits
Keoladeo National Park is the wetland national park at Bharatpur, UNESCO World Heritage, inscribed in 1985, famous for birds. A former hunting marsh of the Bharatpur rulers. Not a tiger reserve. Winter migrants are why birders come. The year depends on water. A dry year is a poor bird year. Rickshaw, walking, and bicycles when allowed are the way in.
It is in Bharatpur district, read here as part of Braj, and usually approached from Bharatpur. It earns a night if it is the point of the day. A photo stop between two cities wastes it. The court or tradition named with that history is a former hunting wetland.
UNESCO, only as this note states it: Yes. Inscribed in 1985, separate from the 2013 forts and the 2010 observatory. The short study line is: Keoladeo, Bharatpur, UNESCO 1985, a wetland. Ranthambore’s fort inscription is 2013 and is a different place.
How to give it the right amount of time
One winter night if the water news is acceptable. Do not rush it against a same-morning Taj plan.
What a visit can actually name: the wetland tracks; colonies if the year has them; the woodland edge. The walking is: Flat tracks. The pleasure is slow.
Neighbours already in the note: Bharatpur; Deeg; the Agra road. The mistake is pairing too much: calling it a tiger park, or visiting in May for migratory birds
Food is a separate decision. Eat in Bharatpur. Carry water.
The Braj year, as a tendency
Winter for migrants. A dry winter should be called a dry winter. The twelve lines below are seasonal tendencies for this part of Rajasthan. They were written as patterns, reviewed 2026-10-02. They are not a forecast, and they do not say that a gate will be open.
January is the bird season people mean at Bharatpur, if the wetland has water. February is still a strong month for Keoladeo and for Deeg. March warms. Winter migrants thin out. April is hot in Bharatpur, Alwar and Dholpur. May is extreme on this plain. June stays very hot.
July starts the monsoon. Tiger reserves in this landscape usually restrict tourism. Check the forest notice. August is wet. Parks are not obliged to match a hotel brochure. September is still a month to confirm safari zones. October is when many reserves reopen to a full visitor season. Confirm the year. November is excellent for a fort or a park morning. December is busy, clear, and the heart of the bird season at Bharatpur.
What to refuse, and how to behave
Story, kept as story: A World Heritage plaque does not refill a dry marsh.
Confusion to keep straight: Not Ranthambore and not Sariska.
No playback of calls. No crowding a nesting tree. Water and access rules change. No getting off where it is forbidden.
Keoladeo National Park is not filed first as a shrine, but private rooms and worship, where they exist, are still not a right of entry.
A permit or a zone rule may apply. Use the forest department or the monument notice for the current rule. Nothing on this page is that notice.
